I don’t usually advertise anything from private companies but I really like Neopixel Ring. It is a bit expensive if you compare it with isolated rgb leds however you have to take in account they are really tiny and that could be a problem.

After playing a bit with Ros I discovered a really easy way to install Ros Hydro in Raspbian thanks to the guys of Ros Sig Embedded. They released a repo that you only have to add and install from it. Really easy. Let’s see how.

Some time ago I bought a screen that could be useful for small robot project or even better, you can use to simulate some eyes.

After reading Leo post about uncopyrigth I started thinking about it. Finally, I decided I should do something like this.

I want to use a license that let everybody use my work. On one hand the small posts I have written are a very little work compared with the work other people have done to create the tools I am using today. On the other hand it is better for me people use and improve the work I have done. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

Several years ago the possibility of creating a robot was only a dream, but nowadays with the development of new technology and the decrease of the price of this technology several new projects has been created (Hansonrobokind,Qbo,Nao…). All this projects have something in common, they are open projects and try to create a strong community around them. The companies offer a device with basic functionality and encourage the users to develop new software. Most of this devices are really useful for R&D but, from my point of view, it has a main weakness the high price of the item if you only are a hobbyist that enjoy technology.
